Life is barreling along, and now Neptune is also turning direct in time for the holidays. Mercury turning retrograde next week should slow things down a bit, but we may still be exposed to so much happening so fast that we feel overwhelmed. It is best to think ahead, not plan too much, and leave open spaces of downtime as there will surely be some surprises in the works.

In today’s report, I touched on the theme of artificial materialistic influences affecting us on so many levels, both conscious and unconscious. The divine, spiritual love of Neptune can be greatly diminished when we fall prey to the conventional, consumer-driven, materialistic beliefs, attitudes, and superficial glamour used to represent love in much of today’s world. It can be hard to see through the glitter and get to the truth of what and who we are dealing with. Best to proceed with awareness.

This is not to say it’s not a fun time, and we should refrain from gathering, enjoying each other’s company, and celebrating life together. Not by any means! We can remember that lovers’ quarrels and social discord can lead to greater understanding and an even deeper appreciation of what we have, who we are, and the love we experience in our lives. So much boils down to digging deep within to witness our intentions and motivations to see what is really driving us in all our relations to others, family, money, work, society, and future goals.

If we remember that life is simply making the unconscious conscious, we can use every party, conversation, disagreement, physical ailment, thought, and desire to evolve, grow, and thrive. So, in that sense, this is a great week where we will have many opportunities. I wish you the most authentic, honest, and open-hearted week ever, wherein you use these astrological energies to expand your horizons (particularly with other loved ones as Venus transits Scorpio) and realize your dreams!

I almost wanted to call this one the “Venus opposite Jupiter Report” or “The Jabba Report.” Indeed, Venus/Jupiter is known for extravagance, indulgence, and, in the Taurus/Scorpio axis, hedonism. It’s when you just can’t get enough love. No one can fill your need to be loved. Fortunately, it’s a transit! But it can indicate misunderstandings around both love and money. These days, there is so much weird stuff going on around love, relationships, and materialism that there should almost be new words to describe the different expressions of love.

The Sabian symbol for Neptune stationing speaks to what happens when the high vibrational frequencies of love are distorted by lower frequencies that corrupt and pervert its expression. So, following up on last week’s mantra of “Sprirtualizing the I,” I will say that this week’s energy will be felt and experienced differently depending on how caught up we are in the lower realms, how suppressed we are (as this also leads to distortion), versus how awake and desiring of pure, genuine, humble, and sacred love we are. Neptune turning direct indicates it’s time to forge new connections with the Divine.

Mercury turning retrograde means it’s time to reflect and revolt against conventional norms, including the new, hyped-up advantages of so-called “more connection” through social media. It’s not. It’s a deception. It is no replacement for an authentic, live, breathing, feeling, moving, and touching experience with another human being. Let’s not lose ourselves to propaganda and stay real!
