I’m glad to be back in Costa Rica and slow down to focus more on the New Paradigm School of Astrology and prepare for the upcoming The Astrology of Relationships Part Four on Transits starting August 5th! To find out more about that and signup, Click HERE! With all that is going on these days with global politics, economics, and propaganda, I am inspired to share the astrology (and my personal take) on what this Pluto square the nodes portends for the collective. That, along with my great excitement around and support of Bobby Kennedy Jr. running for office, makes me want to do even more astrology instead of chill out! Decisions, decisions, decisions!

Despite what’s going on in the big bad world out there, we know that our personal soul evolution carries on and is furthered through our own inner work and our relationships (especially intimate). As I write these words, Venus is slowing down, saying goodbye to Mars after a month of traveling together, and preparing to go retrograde next week. The Moon’s nodes are marching on into Aries/Libra as the Moon herself wanes in preparation for a new Moon coming Monday. All in all, this points to more of a reflective time when we can gain the most out of clearing, cleaning, and strengthening our personal world/space rather than initiating external projects. If anything, it’s time to wrap up, finish, and complete those projects.

I would say that with Mars in Virgo coming up to oppose Saturn in Pisces, one challenge that will probably arise for many of us is the pull between work and service which takes us away from doing our inner work of meditating and simply “being.” This can be a good time to change your definition of “work” to include sitting still, listening inwardly, chanting, dancing, meditating, painting, singing, and more! Ultimately, it boils down to what you value, which determines how you gauge your success and how you spend your time/money. Lots to consider over the next 40 days, so let’s get started!

I feel in my bones a big change is coming,

For which I need to prepare.

From my house to my body and innermost psyche,

I must remain clear, awake, and aware.

To summarize what I discussed in this week’s report, I’ll repeat that we are in the closing phase of several cycles before the beginning of new ones. These are Moon’s nodes completing a 1.5-year transit of Scorpio/Taurus, Venus completing a 584-day synodic cycle (with the Sun), and the Moon closing her monthly cycle this week.

The balsamic phase of any cycle is a time period of dissolution and letting go that is often accompanied by feelings of confusion, emptiness, and doubt. Think of the end of a relationship, school, or living arrangement to get an idea of what I mean. On the other hand, astrology tells us that a new cycle begins immediately following the end of the old.

Hence this week’s mantra. The intention of this mantra is to focus more energy on preparing for the next new cycle rather than on what is old, leaving, or gone. Not that it is either/or, as there are lessons to contemplate and learn from every cycle, but there can be a tendency for people to dwell on the old/negative. Let’s not!
